The FM-200 system uses the gas heptaflourapropane, the environmentally friendly substitute for halon. FM-200 stops fire by cooling it and stopping its chemical reaction. Backing up the FM-200 system is a pre-action dry pipe system zoned to release water only to the affected areas, leaving the remainder of the facility fully operational.
